CORPORATES’ ENTRY GUIDE TO THE NFT HYPE
Are you or your company ready for the hype if Apple announces its AR/VR glasses next week? Only Facebook’s rebranding to Meta created a huge boom into Metaverse-related topics, and as a first step, what if Facebook decides to integrate its systems with blockchain so that you can use your “verified” & “unique” jpegs (NFTs) as your profile picture. Still cannot imagine how this might turn into a greater hype?

1. What is an NFT?
What’s the difference between Michael Jordan signed autographs vs 99 of jpegs (NFTs) which are digitally created by Michael Jordan. It gives the same utility that you own a rare item (only 99 in the world!) and feel part of a limited group, right?
I hear you asking, but what’s preventing others from copy-pasting & downloading the same NFT? Nothing! In this case, my counter-question would be: What’s preventing you from downloading the Mona Lisa and hanging it onto your wall? Does this give your painting the same value as the original?
