Augmented Reality Face Painting Activation
Nothing goes viral like an awesome photo with a great message – and Intel capitalized on just that at Bonnaroo 2016. There, NEXT/NOW and Intel partnered to spread the word and face the issue about Intel’s commitment to sourcing conflict-free minerals in their microprocessors by commissioning us to build an augmented reality face painting application. An excellent use of corporate social responsibility.
NEXT/NOW produced an interactive booth, which served as not only a great oasis from the Tennessee heat, but also the perfect host for the conflict-free message. NEXT/NOW created the digital face paint application using Intel RealSense technology. It precisely scanned the user’s face at 74-points. They then chose among digital face paint designs, which were overlaid on their face, moving with them in augmented reality, and snapped a photo. The photo and conflict-free message could then be shared with their friends on social media. To the thousands of attendees who joined us in spreading the word: thanks for facing the issue. Rock on!
